Just as we set intentions for our yoga practice, we can set intentions at the New Moon. As we create space by letting go of what is not serving us at the Full Moon, we can then invite positive intentions into that space. The New Moon is a perfect time for new beginnings. The first quarter of the Moon is an especially powerful time that will set the course for the entire month. Think about what you want, how you want to feel or what projects have been calling you. Write down your wishes, dreams or desires. Read it aloud and thank the Universe. Store your paper in a safe place and refer back to it during the month. Celebrate these goals and new beginnings. Trust. Believe. Have Faith.
A New Moon Ritual is a powerful practice in which you can "charge" your intention with power. Many of us set intentions on a daily basis and the New Moon Ritual is a way in which to do it in a more conscious way. This can be done alone or with friends, at home or in nature. Trust in what you feel is right. A simple ritual is below. Feel free to simplify or add to this as you wish.
Create a Sacred Space ~ Select a location and add to it your favorite crystals, candles, pictures, special objects. Cleanse yourself and the space with sage smudging. Clear your mind with music, mantra or meditation. Find grounding by connecting to the Earth's energy. Visualize roots growing down from your feet through all of the Earth's layers to the fiery core and back up through your body out of the crown of your head connecting up to the Moon. Repeat this cycle as necessary until you feel a connection and sense of grounding.
Set your Intentions ~ Once you are in a clear mind and comfortable space, offer up some positive intentions. Write them down in your journal or on a piece of paper. And write them in a powerful way by beginning with "I am" or "I will". Believe. Dreams do become reality so dream big. Remember this is a powerful time and you are opening up to the universal energy. Have faith. Tell your intentions to stones such as Citrine, Ruby, Moonstone and Green Aventurine.
Be your Intentions ~ Turn those dreams into reality. Keep awareness on your new intentions by placing them in a visible location or write down the progress. Doors are opening. We just need to be open to see or feel it and have the courage to step through. As with yoga, the more you practice, the more powerful these transformations will become. You may just surprise yourself as these dreams manifest.
